William W. Stockhorst, 85, of Washington, passed away on November 19, 2023. Mr. Stockhorst, son of the late Gerard Stockhorst and Dorothy nee Koenig, was born on September 20,1938 in Americus, MO. On January 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Norma Eggenberg at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
His hobbies included playing music; he was involved with several bands over the years but most notably the Music Makers. He and his wife Norma were dedicated members of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington, Missouri. He was an involved member of the Our of Lourdes choir, as well as serving as their janitor for many years - being well known as "Mr. Bill" to the kids in the school. When he had time, you would find him fishing. Later in life, he had a passion for model railroading where he would spend his time perfecting his layout of his many trains. He was a 4th degree Knight at the Washington Knights of Columbus Hall where he was involved with many activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Stockhorst; son, Mark Stockhorst; brother, Leroy Stockhorst; great-grandson, Parker Stockhorst, and in-laws, Mary Kay Neely, Dennis Eggenberg, Ron Eggenberg, and Judy O’Keefe.
Among his survivors are his children, Bill Stockhorst and wife Debora of Marthasville, Laverne Francis and husband Steve of Brooklyn, TX, and Bridget Beste and husband Leonard of Owensville; grandchildren, Chris Stockhorst and wife Jess, Josh Stockhorst and wife Kelly, Zac Stockhorst and wife Erika, Theresa Stockhorst, Kayla Ott and husband Brandon, and Gabby Beste; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Nora, and Lucas Stockhorst and Alan Ott; in-laws, Linda Jacquin and husband John, Karen Eggenberg; Alice Eggenberg. nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 9-10 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 10 am. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington, MO.
