William H. Giesike III, 78 , of Washington, passed away on December 15, 2022. Bill, son of the late William Giesike II and Hilda nee Narup , was born on June 27, 1944 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On December 30, 1972 he was united in marriage to Barbara Thiel at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Mr. Giesike served his country honorably as a member of the Army National Guard. He was a long time employee of Parker-Sporlan before retirement.
Bill enjoyed taking pictures, reading about history, fishing, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Giesike and father-in-law, Walter Thiel.
Among his survivors are three children, Rebecca Lingle and husband Brian of Washington, Chad Giesike and wife Jennifer of Washington, and Aaron Giesike and wife Dawn of Washington; grandchildren, William Lingle, Grayson Lingle, Auggie Lingle, Hallie Giesike, Blake Giesike, and Brooklyn Giesike; mother-in-law, Anna Marie Thiel of Washington; brother and sisters-in-law, Rick Thiel and wife Karen of Marthasville and Joyce Johnson of Marthasville; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Interment, with full military honors will be at the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Bill Giesike Memorial Fund or the Washington Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
