Walter Hellebusch Obituary

Walter A. Hellebusch,78, of Washington, passed away on December 3, 2024. Mr. Hellebusch, son of the late Werner Hellebusch and Christine nee Westhoff, was born on June 25, 1946, in Concord Hill. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School and Ranken Technical College in St. Louis. On November 5, 1966, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Bueker at the St. Francis Borgia Church.

Walter started Hellebusch Tool & Die in 1973 and was still active in the business. He was currently a member of the Bank of Franklin County bank board and WCIC board. Past president of St Louis chapter of the NTMA, National insurance committee for NTMA, NADCA past president, Washington Chamber of Commerce past president and Missouri state Chamber of commerce. Involved in numerous church and school fund raising committees. Walter loved boating both on the river and Lake of the Ozarks and enjoying a margarita with friends and family at Vista Grande. He enjoyed many fun times with the Wild Weekend group of friends and relatives. He loved being a “Papa”  teaching and supporting all of his grandchildren.  His love and care for his wife Marilyn was truly selfless and full of compassion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Christine Hellebusch, wife, Marilyn Hellebusch, and mother and father-in-law, Leona and Edwin Bueker.

Among his survivors are his two children, Jeffrey Hellebusch and wife Dana of Washington and Julie Agles and husband Steve of Webster Groves; siblings, Sylvia Czeschin and husband Paul of Washington, Carl Hellebusch and wife Laverne of Overland Park, KS, Gerard Hellebusch and wife Sue of Washington, Grace Thornton and husband Dan of Marthasvile, and Mary Kalish and husband Mike of Concord Hill; five grandchildren, Jodi Staats and husband CJ, Jenna Eckelkamp and husband Walton, Jack Hellebusch and wife Heidi, Jay Hellebusch, and Blaine Agles; three great-grandchildren, Austyn Staats, Nova Staats, and Elaine Staats; brother and sister-in-laws, Darryl Bueker and wife Marilyn and Dave Bueker and wife Patti; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Parish rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the St. Francis Borgia Church. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or St. Francis Borgia High School.
