Vincent N. Bruckerhoff, 80, of Washington, passed away on November 24, 2025. Mr. Bruckerhoff, son of the late Norbert Bruckerhoff and Viola nee Pfeiffer, was born on July 12, 1945, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On April 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Alfermann at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. Vince served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.
Vince was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 513 as a heavy equipment mechanic since 1966. He was employed at Missouri Illinois Tractor/Roland Machinery.
After retirement, he dedicated many hours to the VFW for the veterans. He was honored to help with military funerals, fish/chicken fry's, BBQs and bingos.
He also worked every church dinner at St. Gertrude frying chicken and sausage.
Everyone knew Vince. He was a stranger to no one. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and BBQs with his famous secret sauce. But the most important thing, was time spent with family. His family meant everything to him. He cherished every visit and get together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kathy Bruckerhoff.
Among his survivors are three children, Tim Bruckerhoff and wife Laura of Union, Tricia Hanneken and husband Mark of Washington, and Tom Bruckerhoff and wife Jessica of Washington; significant other, Janet Leesmann of Washington; seven siblings, Charles Bruckerhoff and wife Theresa of Connecticut, Rich Bruckerhoff and wife Betty of Marthasville, John Bruckerhoff and wife Donna of Clover Bottom, Dave Bruckerhoff and wife Betty of Washington, Kenny Bruckerhoff and wife Brenda of Washington, Mary Bruckerhoff of Clover Bottom, and Barb Smith and husband Jeff of Owensville; grandchildren, Alissa, Jason, Emily, Taylor, Jacob, Isabelle, James, Haley, Amelia, and Sam; great-grandson, Jack; brothers and sisters-in-law, Verlin Brinker and husband Othmar and Jonell Hillermann and husband Ray; close extended family, Eric Ramsey and wife Kim, Jessica Meyer and her children, Madison and Dalten; loved ones and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 3-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Gertrude's Church in Krakow. Interment, with full military honors will be at the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Gertrude's Church or the VFW 2661.
