Velma Louise Bartel, 89 , of Washington, passed away on April 27, 2021. Mrs. Bartel, daughter of the late Ralph Hibbs and his wife Opal nee Day, was born on June 17, 1931 in Beaver, OK. She received her education in Woodward, OK. She was united in marriage to Chester Bartel for 30 years. Velma was a farmer and rancher for many years, raising cattle and farming wheat. She had a great love for animals, especially her horses. Mrs. Bartel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Bartel, and stepson, Jim Bartel.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Vicki Farr and husband William of Washington; son, Tolen Blake Liibs and wife Emily of Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughter, Vanessa Patredis and husband Shaun of Washington; step-grandson, Justin Bartel; three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, and Olivia; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bartel; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
