Thomas Wilson Obituary

Thomas J. Wilson, 65, of Labadie, passed away on December 3, 2025.

Born on September 22, 1960, in Beverly, England, Tom was the son of the late Anthony E. Wilson and Lee T. Lombardo. He received his education from North County Tech in Florissant. On January 6, 2007, he was united in marriage with Deanna Mueller in Des Peres, Missouri.

Tom was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all who met him. He will be dearly missed.

A gifted and passionate aviator, Tom introduced many people to the world of aviation. Safety and fun were always his priorities. He loved to tinker and fix things and was the person who never asked what he could do to help—he simply showed up, anticipated what was needed, and got it done.

Tom enjoyed riding motorcycles with friends and family at his brother's farm. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and whatever you were doing with Tom, you could count on it being fun.

He retired in 2020 after an exceptional 35+ year career in aviation, beginning as a line mechanic and working his way up to a corporate pilot flying high performance jets and helicopters on domestic and international routes.  Ending his career managing the logistics and parts to keep the flight department running smoothly.

In retirement, Tom devoted his time to his granddaughter and to teaching and mentoring his sons and anyone who showed interest. He continued to share his love of flying as a hobby, taking countless people up for the joy of it. Tom was instrumental in turning the idea of a family compound into a reality in Labadie, where he loved living "on the Ridge." He quickly formed many new friendships and cherished those relationships deeply.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Anthony A. Wilson; father-in-law, Donald T. Bergkoetter; mother-in-law, Peggy Theobald; and sisters-in-law, Laura Wilson and Marva Bergkoetter.

Among his survivors are his wife, Deanna Wilson of Labadie; three children, Peter D. Wilson of St. Louis, Drew Mueller of Fenton, and Anthony "Jack" Wilson of St. Louis; eight siblings, John T. Wilson of Hewitt, TX, Mary Lillian Borovik (Harry) of Traverse City, MI, Michael E. Wilson of Maryland Heights, MO, Mary McGowan (Bob) of St. Peters, MO, Joseph L. Wilson (Connie) of Florissant, Christopher N. Wilson (Cathy) of St. Peters, MO, Peter A. Wilson (Adriana) of Labadie, and Patrick D. Wilson of St. Peters, MO; his beloved granddaughter, Korra Mueller of Fenton; mother-in-law, Margaret Bergkoetter of Lively Grove, IL; father-in-law, Jerry Theobald of Poplar Bluff; brothers- and sister-in-law, Donald T. Bergkoetter of Poplar Bluff and David A. Bergkoetter (Marsha) of Lively Grove, IL; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.
