Thomas R. Holdmeier, 67, of Washington, passed away on September 30, 2025. Mr. Holdmeier, son of the late James Holdmeier and Verna nee Hagedorn, was born on February 7, 1958, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On October 10, 1980 he was united in marriage to Kristine Daugherty at the Saint Francis Borgia Church.
Tom loved the outdoors. He felt most connected to family and nature when fly fishing, kayaking, cycling, or camping under the stars. He also loved to travel and was always eager to see new places with his wife and friends. While he had many hobbies, his greatest joy was time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Tom gave generously of his time through countless hours of service on city boards, and many community organizations. For 21 years, he shaped thousands of lives as the basketball coach at Our Lady of Lourdes, offering his players not just lessons on the court, but lessons in life. Generous in every way, Coach made all who knew him feel seen, valued, and loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two nieces, Jamie and Julie Holdmeier and great-nephew, Nolan Allender.
Among his survivors are his wife, Kris Holdmeier of Washington; three children, Amy Powell and husband Scott of Columbia, MO, John Holdmeier and partner Lyndsey of Columbia, MO, and David Holdmeier and wife Abby of Cottleville, MO; five siblings, Dennis Holdmeier and wife Shirley of Columbia, MO, Mike Holdmeier and wife Connie of Washington, Dale Holdmeier and wife Lisa of Washington, Roger Holdmeier and wife Sue of Washington, and Mary Lou Kampschroeder and husband Dave of Washington; five grandchildren, Myla, Jack, Celia, Quinn, and Anna; brothers and sister-in-law, Kevin Daugherty of Springfield, MO and Kim Daugherty and wife Mary Kay of Washington; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
