Thelma M. Lucy

Thelma M. Lucy, 93, of Washington, passed away on October 16, 2023. Mrs. Lucy, daughter of the late John Brewer and Verna nee Kunz, was born on April 22, 1930 in St. Louis. She received her education from Hadly Tech High School. On June 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Lucy at Salvator U.C.C. in St. Louis.

Thelma was very active in her church, St Peter’s UCC.  She was part of Women’s fellowship, the Quilting Circle, the Prayer Network, the rummage sale, church services at local nursing homes, and helped with anything that was needed.  She also loved her grandchildren very much and was available to help with them whenever needed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Lucy and siblings, Raymond Brewer, Mary Emerick, Dorothy Kretzman, John Brewer, George Brewer, and Patricia Ann Brewer.

Among her survivors are two children, Jeffrey Lucy of Eureka, MO and Cheryl Dutton and husband Don of Lake of the Ozarks; grandchildren, Brittany Lucy, Joe Dutton, and John Creen; special friend, Fred Kruse; loved ones and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice or St. Peter’s UCC.
