Ted Lewis Obituary

Ted F. Lewis, 88, of Washington, passed away on January 24, 2024. Mr. Lewis, son of the late Clarence “C.D.” Lewis and Beatrice nee McCann, was born on February 12, 1935 in Bowling Green, MO. He received his education from Bowling Green High School. On December 5, 1956, he was united in marriage to Martha House.

Mr. Lewis served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.

Ted was a union electrician and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the Gasconade County Threshers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings, Clarence Lewis, Richard Lewis, Corrine Hussong, Betty Griffith, Mary B “Peggy” Scherder, Ruth Hays, Patsy Booth, and Hylah “Sug” Moran.

Among his survivors are his wife, Martha Lewis of Washington; daughter, Kathy Kleinheider and husband Rodney of Washington; brother, Joe Lewis and wife Rose of Bowling Green, MO; two grandchildren, Leah Jasper and husband Dustin of Washington and Joey Spaunhorst and wife Jessica of Washington; five great-grandchildren, Blake Jasper, Ellerie Jasper, Henry Spaunhorst, Andie Spaunhorst, and Georgia Spaunhorst; sister-in-law, Donna Lewis of Troy, MO; brother-in-law, Wayne House of Hunnewell, MO; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will be at the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Gasconade County Threshers Association or Our Lady of Lourdes School.
