Steve R. Panus, 84, of Washington, passed away on August 26, 2024. He was the only child of the late Joseph and Ruth (McGriff) Panus and was born in St. Louis, MO on December 2, 1939.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and wife Gwendolyn Kay Panus. The two were married on May 28, 1960, in Granite City, IL.
Among his survivors are two children, Sherry Fricke and husband Chris of Kansas City, MO and Brian Panus and wife Tracy of Foristell, MO; three grandchildren, Cori Fricke, Paige Panus, and Aiden Panus; other relatives and friends.
Steve spent most of his career working as a piping designer/draftsman. His true passion was flying. He was a private pilot who logged many hours in a Cessna and hanging out with his airport buddies. His sense of humor will be missed by all.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
