Stephen J. Voss, 92, of Washington, passed away on October 16, 2025. Mr. Voss, son of the late Stephen E. and Ella, nee Funke, was born on June 7, 1933, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia School. On August 4, 1956, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Stricker at St. Francis Borgia Church. Mr. Voss served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.
Stephen found great joy in a variety of hobbies throughout his life. He was passionate about woodworking, dedicating countless hours to crafting and building with his hands. Swimming and biking were among his favorite activities, reflecting his love of staying active and enjoying the outdoors. Additionally, Stephen took pride in tending to his lawn and garden.
His commitment to his faith was evident in his lifelong membership at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where he remained a devoted parishioner since the church began in 1958.
Mr. Voss was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Elsenrath and husband Kenny, Don Voss, Leon Voss and wife Sheryl; son-in-law, Tom Borovic; sisters-in-law Jan Voss and Ruth Stricker, brothers-in-law Donald Stricker and wife Dorothy, Russell and Earl Stricker, and mother and father-in-law, Otto and Ruth Stricker.
Among his survivors are his wife, Anna Mae Voss of Washington; children, Dennis Voss and wife Patty of Lee’s Summit, MO, Beverly Hoeft and husband Ryland of Washington, Sharon Feldmann and husband Joe of Washington, and Diane Borovic of Washington; grandchildren, Adam Hoeft and wife Kelly, Josh Hoeft and wife Julia, Christopher Voss and wife Laurel, Amanda Meador and husband Myk, Allison Feldmann and significant other Josh Dayton, Brendan Feldmann and wife Molly, Matthew Borovic, and Jessie Borovic; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth ”Libby” Hoeft, Louisa Hoeft, George Hoeft, Nova Meador, and Sonny Feldmann; brother Glenn Voss, sister-in-law, Martha Voss; brothers-in-law Alphonse Meyer and Ralph Stricker, loved ones and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9-10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 10 a.m. Interment, with full military honors will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
