Shirley M. Martin

Shirley Mae Martin of Columbia, passed away on September 19, 2022. Mrs. Martin, daughter of the late Milton “Bud” Peters and Lillie nee Mills, was born on May 27, 1933 in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School.

Mrs. Martin loved to go fishing on the Missouri River. She also enjoyed spending time with her cousins, playing cards, and making quilts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Billie Lee Daniels and Milton “Boots” Peters.

Among her survivors are her son, William Martin and wife Becki of Fulton; step sister, Judith Ann Jellen and husband Bill of Washington; step brother, Michael Lee Scott and wife Barbara of Mississippi; grandchildren, Nicole Michelle Rieland of Dandridge, TN and Kayla Mae Miller of Sacramento, CA; great-grandchildren, Ethan Martin Rieland and Emma Rose Rieland; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 11-1 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
