Rose Schrader Obituary

Rose M. Schrader,89, of New Haven, formerly of Washington, passed away on December 2, 2025. Mrs. Schrader, daughter of the late Hugo Wiethar and Lucy nee Groteweil, was born on January 10, 1936, in Concord Hill, MO. She received her education from St. Ignatius Catholic School. On November 10, 1962, she was united in marriage to Donald Schrader at the St. Ignatius Church in Concord Hill.

Rose cherished moments spent with her family, finding great joy in gathering with loved ones and creating lasting memories together. She was passionate about baking, often delighting family and friends with her homemade cinnamon rolls, and her skill and creativity in the kitchen were well known. Quilting was another of Rose's beloved pastimes; she dedicated countless hours to crafting beautiful quilts, each piece reflecting her care and warmth. These activities brought her happiness and were a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene Wiethar; two sister-in-laws, Melba Schrader and Evelyn Peters and brother-in-law, Glenn Schrader.

Among her survivors are her husband, Donald Schrader of New Haven; six children, Timothy Schrader of New Haven, Michael Schrader and wife Kathleen of Washington, Richard Schrader and wife Christine of Washington, Douglas Schrader and wife Bonita of Washington, Amy Solter and husband Jeffrey of Washington, and Kelly Platt and husband Jason of Edwards, CO; grandchildren, Tyler Schrader and wife Kierstyn, Taylor Maaas and husband Daniel, Alex Solter, Brooke Klemme and husband Jacob, Megan Gildehaus and husband Wade, Jared Schrader, Tyson Schrader, Parker Schrader, Mathias Platt, and August Platt; great-grandchildren, Hunter Klemme, Tyler Klemme, Rylee Hood, Bennett Schrader, Karsyn Schrader, and Leevi Gildehaus; sister-in-law, Ruth Schrader; loved ones and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 3-6 p.m at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at St. Ann’s Church in Clover Bottom. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Ann’s Parish PSR, or Masses.
