It is with deep sadness that the family of Rosalie Nieder Voss, 99, of Washington, announces her passing on January 15, 2026, at Aspen Valley Senior Care. Rosalie was born in Concord Hill, MO to Frances(Mebruer) and Joseph Nieder.
Rosalie grew up on the family farm which instilled an unequaled sense of work ethic and strong family values. From the time she was 12 years old until she was 96, she worked in hospitals in St Louis and Washington as a nurse’s aide, sewed soldier’s boots during WWII at the Washington Factory cared for children as a live-in-nanny and in-home childcare, a crop and dairy farmer with her husband in Villa Ridge, a postal worker, a seamstress at Wonder Maid and Hazel, worked with Denny Holtmeyer and his team at Droege’s Catering and finally as an entrepreneur doing alterations: making drapes, pillow covers, window seat covers, and any other sewing projects her customers needed. She also ironed for people and during her busiest years, she would iron up to 75 shirts a week! She was enormously ambitious and creative; her customers were all considered her friends. This woman loved to work. She lit up every room with her smile and was appreciated for her listening ear and loving heart. Rosalie was a quiet, unpretentious Christian woman who read the Bible every day and lived her life according to God’s word.
As a community service, Rosalie sewed countless merit badges onto sashes for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and during Covid, made around 1,000 face masks for anyone needing them.
Rosalie married Raymond Voss from Clover Bottom, MO on September 6, 1947. They started their married life in Villa Ridge and later moved to Washington. Together they raised four children.
She is survived by her children, Charles(Sharon) Voss, Lois(David) Dister, Connie(Paul) Rehbein all of Washington, and Nicholas Voss(Phoenix). Her grandchildren are: Dean(Danielle) Voss, Jacksonville, FL; Greg(Monica) Voss, St. Peter’s, MO; Ben(Courtney) Martin, Labadie, MO; Amy Martin and fiance Patrick McGee; Tim Martin and fiance Sarah Page. She has eight great grandchildren: Colby and Camryn Voss, Alic Moreland, Sam Martin and fiance Emily Carlton, Ella Martin, Clayton Voss; Calum and Addilyn McGee.
