Rosalie Bargen Obituary

Rosalie Bargen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. She was 89 years old.

Rosalie was the daughter of Joseph and Emily Nowak of Clover Bottom, Missouri. She was one of 8 children.

A devout Catholic, mother of 13 children, wife to August (Gus) for nearly 68 years, and an active member of St. Francis Borgia Parish. Rosalie will be most remembered and missed for her strong faith, motherly wisdom and guidance, generous caregiving, fun-filled spirit, and her love for life. Rosalie felt blessed to have such a healthy, big family. She loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren and especially loved hearing about their accomplishments, guiding them through set-backs, praying for them and celebrating their successes. She loved gardening, played piano, was a math whiz and a terrific speller. She loved family reunions, growing vegetables and flowers in her garden, enjoyed making every holiday and birthday special, and was always quick to offer help to others. She loved to listen and dance to polka music, go to garage sales, and shopping for gifts for others. She embraced life for all of its ups and downs and always found humor in the simplest of settings.  Rosalie always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room and she wished God’s blessings to all those she knew. Rosalie felt so loved and blessed and celebrated life with time spent together with her family, visiting loved ones, playing bingo and cards, making big family dinners, going to church picnics, watching daily devotions, praying the rosary, and so much more.

Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Connie and Joseph Rigg, daughter, Carol and Mike Bunton, son, Roger and Sharon Bargen, daughter, Christine and Randall Wilson, son, Randy and Christine Bargen, son, Russell Bargen, daughter, Charlotte Bargen, son, Robin and Brenda Bargen, daughter, Carleen and Chris Moritz, daughter, Cheryl and David Howell, daughters Cathy and Carrie Bargen.
