Robert A. Huxel

Robert A. Huxel, 89, of Washington, passed away on December 13, 2024. Mr. Huxel, son of the late Emil Huxel and Helen nee Manhart, was born on September 25, 1935, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On May 13, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Weber at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Mr. Huxel served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.

Bob was an artist and loved to paint pictures. He also enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane Huxel; son, Kenneth Huxel; siblings, David Huxel, Raymond Huxel, Emil Huxel Jr. and Doris Buhr.

Among his survivors are his children, Mark Huxel and wife Joan of Washington, Carl Huxel and wife Mary Beth of Washington, Connie Waters and husband Thomas of Washington; daughter-in-law, Teresa Huxel of Washington; siblings, Mary Hellmann of Villa Ridge and Mike Konys and wife Darlene of Washington; grandchildren, Tim Huxel and wife Elizabeth of Washington, Tony Huxel and wife Kelly of Washington, Trisha Huxel of Ballwin, Mike Huxel and wife Courtney of St. Louis, Jonathan Huxel of Washington, Ella Huxel of Washington, Nick Waters and wife Allee of Nashville, TN, Zac Waters of St. Louis, Cassidy Waters and significant other Clayton McKinney of Sullivan, MO, Madilyn Waters and fiance Cam Grause of St. Louis, Abigail Waters of St. Charles, and Gianna Huxel; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Huxel, Samuel Huxel, Colton Huxel, and Caleb Huxel; in-laws, loved ones, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment with full military honors will be at the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Our Lady of Lourdes Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
