Richard Turner Obituary

Richard L. Turner, 78, of Protem, MO, passed away on February 20, 2023 in Branson, MO. Richard, son of the late Lillard Turner and Nadine(nee) Black, was born on September 27, 1944 in Camden, TN. On June 6, 1966, he was united in marriage to Gail Cooley in Collinsville, IL.

Mr. Turner proudly served his country in the Army National Guard in Tennessee.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and boating. He was a member of the Jaycees in Cahokia, IL and a member of ESDA, which is a search and rescue diving team. Most of all, Richard loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lillard Turner and two brothers, Jimmy and Joe Turner.

Among his survivors are his wife Gail Turner of Protem, MO; mother, Nadine Turner of Tennessee; two children, Vicki Schult of Villa Ridge, MO. and David Turner and wife Pamela of Cahokia, IL; siblings, Riley Turner and wife Debbie of Willisville, IL. and Bruce Turner and Dolores of Camden, TN; grandchildren, Nichole Ballard, Brittany Harvey, and Chelsey Andersen; great-grandchildren, Abbey, Cooper, and Ryleigh Harvey and Noah, Carter, and Maxx; other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5-9 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Sandy Point Baptist Church cemetery in Tennessee. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
