Rhea “Joyce” Oberg passed away December 28, 2020. She was the widow of Nathan Bradley Oberg and the daughter of the late Harry L. and Ida M. (Rohlfing) Martin. Joyce was born August 28, 1929 in Morning Sun, Iowa and moved to Gasconade, Missouri in 1931. She graduated from Hermann High School in 1947 and married to Nathan Oberg on May 29, 1948 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Hermann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her parents-in-law, her sister and brother-in-law, her brother-in-law and his wife, and two great-grandchildren.
Joyce leaves a son, Larry Bradley and his wife Jo Ellen Oberg. From the union of her son Larry and Jo Ellen, Joyce has 5 grandsons, 5 great-grandsons, and 5 great-granddaughters: Benjamin Bradley and wife Alicia Oberg, son Escher Matthew Lee Griffin; Jacob Christopher and wife Rachel Oberg, son Charly Nathan Oberg; Andrew Haskel and wife Elba Oberg, son Dominic Haskel Oberg and daughters Samantha and Destiny Arnce; Michael Brennan and wife Ashlee Leslie, son Chance and daughters Jessa and Sadie Leslie; Keelan Barrett Leslie, son Landon and daughter Kellci Leslie. Joyce also leaves a daughter, Linda Joyce and her husband James Edward Fleer. From the union of her daughter Linda and James, Joyce has 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren: Brittany Aleece and husband Gregory Brenner, son Diego Cassian Brenner; Nicholas Alexander and his wife Kylie Fleer, son Carter Marion Fleer and a baby girl to be born May 2021.
A private service will be held at St. Peter’s UCC followed by a graveside service. Joyce will be buried in St. Peter’s UCC cemetery in Washington, Missouri. Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Washington, Missouri.
