Raymond D. Hilke, 87, of Washington, passed away on January 17, 2024. Mr. Hilke, son of the late Emil Hilke and Laura nee Vossel, was born on April 21, 1936 in Washington. He received his education from Ziegenmeyer School.
Mr. Hilke served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. Ray was a farmer his entire life. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting. But most of all, he loved to ride around his farm on his John Deere gator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerome Hilke and Emil Hilke; sister, Mary Jane Kopp; nephew, Stephen Moore, and a brother in infancy.
Among his survivors are two sisters, Laura Moore and husband Charles of Tebbetts, MO and SR. Gabriela Hilke of Wauwatosa WI; six nephews, six nieces, great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment will be in the Ascension Cemetery in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
