Patrick R. Carr Sr., 66, of Bourbon (formerly of St. Louis) passed away on July 8, 2023. Patrick, raised by the late James Howard Carr and his mother Edna nee Naeger, was born on August 23, 1956 in St. Louis. He was the biological son of the late Thomas W. Marlen.
Patrick was an excellent mechanic, gun enthusiast, avid stamp collector, silversmith, played the harmonica and loved riding motorcycles. He loved animals, and always seemed to have at least one cat and dog dependent on him. He was a free spirit and deeply loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father, Thomas W. Marlen; son-in-law, Eric Walters; grandson, Scotty McPherson Jr.; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Marlen and Sen Marlen; and half-brother Charles Marlen.
Among his survivors are his children, Patrick “Rich” Carr Jr. and wife Shannon of Union, Jamie Walters-Seamon and husband Anthony of Washington, Christopher Carr and wife Elizabeth of Union, Scott McPherson and wife Michelle of St. Louis, and Dyanna Riebold of St. Charles; siblings Diane (wife of the late Charles Marlen), Rosalie Marlen Schele, Thomas Marlen and wife Tomi, Mary Marlen Sapp, Richard Marlen, Robert Marlen, and Michael Carr and wife Kathleen; eleven grandchildren, Ethan Carr, Olivia Carr, Alex Walters, Rylie Seamon, Nicholas Burnett, Samuel Carr, Scott Corrigan, Nicole Rorick and husband Brian, Maegan McPherson, Alyssa Paul, and Patricia Paul; great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Emma, Layla, Bennett, Jameson, Kaleb, and Karter; other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses, or to the Franklin County Humane Society.
