Oman Yount Jr. Obituary

Oman E. Yount Jr., 91 , of Washington, passed away on January 17, 2021. Mr. Yount, son of the late Oman Yount Sr. and his wife Maude NEE Coleman, was born August 31, 1929 in St. Charles. Oman served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. On April 20, 1952, he was united in marriage to Elvira Haerer at the Bethany U.C.C. in Berger, MO. Oman was employed at Mercy Hospital in Washington for many years, in the Maintenance Dept. He was a member of the VFW 2661 and the American Legion 218.

Oman was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Barbara Pettit, Norma Skaggs, Betti Knoll, and Darlene Danner.

Among his survivors are his wife Elvira Yount of Washington; two children, Deborah Buddemeyer and husband Terry of Washington and Jim Yount and wife Gina of Washington; sister, Patricia Heifort of Snohomish, WA; four grandchildren, Abby Bell, Emily Mueller, Mark Buddemeyer, and Matthew Buddemeyer; three great-grandchildren, Payton Bell, Charlotte Bell, and Evelyn Mueller; other relatives and friends.

Private services were held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Interment, with full military honors was held at the New Haven Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Bethany U.C.C. in Berger or the VFW 2661.
