Norma Jean Roth, 84 , of Washington, passed away on July 8, 2022. Mrs. Roth, daughter of the late Edwin Marquart and Verneita nee Dieckhaus, was born on February 18, 1938 in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On June 8, 1963, she was united in marriage to Otto Roth at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Mrs. Roth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otto Roth; brother, Dennis Marquart, and step-mother, Esther Marquart.
Among her survivors are two sons, Steven Roth and wife Eileen of New Haven and David Roth of Washington; siblings, Howard Marquart and wife Gloria of Washington and Larry Marquart and wife Connie of Washington; three grandchildren, Clare, Lucy, and Charlie Roth; step sister, Ruth Jones and husband Hank; sister-in-law, Jane Marquart; other relatives and many friends.
Norma Jean was a school teacher in her early career, and worked for Riechers Tire and Auto, Washington, for more than 30 years, retiring in 2021. She was president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Washington, for more than 30 years, and was a regular volunteer for many different church groups and charitable organizations. She loved Cardinals baseball, Christmas, doing yard work and planting flowers, and having fun with her brothers, family, grandkids and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
