Mildred M. Ley, 81, of Washington, Missouri, passed away on November 23, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and wife Mary J. Ley ‘nee’ Schmucke, and was born on June 23, 1943 in Washington, Missouri.
Millie received her education from St. John’s - Gildehaus Grade School and St. Francis Borgia High School.
Mildred enjoyed crafting, cake decorating, collecting dolls, and throughout her life she was very generous in giving to people in need.
Mildred worked for nearly 35 years for Dr. Leonard Niewald and later for Enduro Binders.
“Millie” loved her family, which consisted of 7 siblings, 14 nieces and nephews, 28 great-nieces and -nephews, 1 great-great niece and 5 great-great nephews, and 23 in-laws.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and eldest sister, Dorothy Ann Ley, and great-niece Aubrey Ley.
Among Mildred’s survivors are her siblings, Robert Ley and wife Carol, Joan Meyer and husband George, Marvin Ley and wife Carolyn, Rita Ley, Raymond Ley and wife Brenda, and Joseph L. Ley.
A memorial Mass at St. John’s - Gildehaus will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 10 AM. Memorial donations can be made on Mildred’s behalf for Masses, or to the St. John’s - Gildehaus Grade School, or to the St. Francis Borgia High School.
