Mildred M. Althage (nee Eggert), 89, of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Washington. Mildred was born on August 21, 1930, to the late August and Bertha (nee Kassebaum) Eggert in Leslie, Missouri and was united in marriage to the late Orval Althage on October 20, 1951, at St. John’s United Church of Christ-Casco.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 27, 2019, at Ebenezer Lutheran Chuch in Port Hudson. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 26, from 4 until 7 pm at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Memorial donations are appreciated to Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Judy Steffens and husband Kevin of Washington and Janice Meyer of New Haven; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Eggert and Norma Eggert; four grandchildren, Kate Steffens, Jill Hellebusch and husband Nick, Derek Meyer and wife Kayla, and Lindsay Moritz and husband Paul; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Bertha Eggert; her husband, Orval Althage; and eight siblings, Harry, Edwin, Homer, Walter, Alfred, Clarence, Nora, and Alice.
