Michael W. Haas, 63, of Washington, passed away on January 5, 2025. Michael, son of the late Ralph Haas and JoAnn nee Tilker, was born on December 23, 1961, in Kirkwood. He received his education from St. Louis Community College at Meramec. On April 14, 2018, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Suerig Harris in Union and they were together for 33 years.
Michael and Cindy loved to travel, cook together, and spend time with their family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Haas; mother, JoAnn Sleadd; brother, David Haas and brother-in-law, Earl Schuessler.
Among his survivors are his wife, Cynthia Haas of Washington; four children, Jason Harris and wife Melia of Crestwood, Jeffrey Harris and wife Brittany of Washington, James Haas and wife Kenzi of Fayetteville, GA, and Stacia Harris Dodson and husband Brian of St. Clair; step-father, Robert Sleadd of Round Rock, TX; sister, Christine Schuessler of Jefferson City, MO; twelve grandchildren, Madyson, Trinity, Parker, Grace, Charlie, Jackson, Talon, Benjamin, Cecilia, Cooper, Kade, and Freyja; in-laws, Patricia Haas of Colorado Springs, CO, Sharon King and husband Jim, Patricia Sowadski and husband John, Barbara Ray and husband James, James Suerig and wife Debbie, Linda Homire and husband Steve, Cathy Fowler and husband Bob, Janie Mathena and husband Rick, Helen Farrar, Ron Suerig and wife Jodi, and Ada Broam and husband Ken; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 1-6 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Washington. Memorial contributions can be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
