Maureen A. Michels

Maureen A. Michels, 64 , of Washington, passed away on February 21, 2021. Maureen, daughter of the late James “Mac” McDonald, and Marion NEE Brinker, was born on March 1, 1956 in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. Maureen was employed for over 40 years at Mercy Hospital, where she worked in a variety of different roles. She was a member of the St. Francis Borgia Church.

Mrs. Michels was preceded in death by her father, James “Mac” McDonald, and one brother, Todd McDonald.

Among her survivors are her mother, Marion McDonald of Washington;  three children, Shawn Michels and wife Elena of San Diego, CA, Andrea Gates and husband Greg of Washington, and Casey Michels and wife Jennifer of St. Louis; siblings, Michael McDonald and wife Theresa of Villa Ridge, Kathleen Alferman and special friend LeeRoy Case of Washington, Bryan McDonald and wife Lisa of Washington, and Molly Lynchard and husband Tim of Villa Ridge; grandchildren, Brenna Michels Gates, Liam Michels, and Maxwell Michels; other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 10-11 A.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11 A.M. at St. Francis Borgia Church. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia High School-STEM program.
