Mary Ann Kamler, 93, of Washington, passed away on November 5, 2023. Mrs. Kamler, daughter of the late Anthony Sullentrup and Sophie nee Hagedorn, was born on December 19, 1929, in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On May 14, 1949, she was united in marriage to Francis “Cappy” Kamler at St. Francis Borgia Church.
Mrs. Kamler was a member of the Washington Child Welfare Association, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, National Catholic Women's Union, and many organizations at St. Francis Borgia Church.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making desserts and volunteering for a variety of charitable causes. She loved her family, who will miss her.
Mrs. Kamler was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cappy Kamler and three brothers, Kenneth Sullentrup, Leroy Sullentrup, and Lester Sullentrup.
Among her survivors are six children, Kathleen Wright and husband David of Washington, Michael Kamler and wife Elizabeth of O’Fallon, MO, Patricia Kamler of Webster Groves, Kevin Kamler of Fort Wayne, IN, Kelly Harfst and husband David of Webster Groves, and Bethann Anglin and husband Matt of Richmond Heights; sister, Gladys Martin and husband Larry of Washington; grandchildren, Marion Timmerman and husband Randy, Sarah Wright, Lauren Wright, Matthew Wright, Adrienne Brennecke and husband Tom, Jennifer Kruger and husband Brett, Madeline Kamler, Jeremy Harfst, Emily Harfst, Sophia Kamler, Malachi Kamler, and Theodore Kamler; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Timmerman, Austin Timmerman, Autumn Timmerman, and Nora Brennecke; sister-in-law, Doris A. Sullentrup; loved ones and friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. and visitation from 9-10:30 a.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to SFB Grade School, SFB High School, or OLL Church.
