Mary Hilke Obituary

Mary Jane Hilke, 75, of Washington, passed away on September 23, 2022. Mrs. Hilke, daughter of the late Theodore Noelke and Olivia nee Lamke, was born on December 12, 1946, in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On April 22, 1967, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Hilke at St. Francis Borgia Church.

Mrs. Hilke loved to play bingo and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. She enjoyed canning food that she picked from her garden, working at church dinners, and in her free time, knitting was one of her favorite things to do.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbert Hilke; daughter, Christine Hilke and three in-laws, Donald Calvin and Tony and Barb Reinecke.

Among her survivors are two sons, Michael and Jeffrey Hilke of Washington; siblings, Richard Noelke and wife Patricia of Washington, Anna Rose Calvin of Washington, and Kathleen Baker and husband Donald of Washington; sister-in-law, Irene Hilke of Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the St. Gertrude’s Church in Krakow. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Gertrude’s School, St. Vincent DePaul Society, or St. Gertrude’s Church.
