Mary Elizabeth Blumer, nee Beasley, 100, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Friendship Village Care Center in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Mary Liz was born August 12, 1922, in Union, Missouri, daughter of the late Roy Beasley and wife Stella, nee Hundley. She was united in marriage to John Calvin Blumer on October 7, 1944, in Union, Missouri.
Mary Liz was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Washington, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Washington Historical Society. She worked as a secretary in the order department of Hazel Inc. In her free time, Mary Liz stayed active on her computer, always staying in touch with her family.
Mary Liz is survived by her sister, Virginia Twesten, Chillicothe, Missouri; her brother, Richard Beasley, Sante Fe, New Mexico; and her brother-in-law, Dick Blumer, Ballwin, Missouri; two sons, John Patrick and wife Beth, Toano, Virginia, and Michael Robert and wife Barbara, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one daughter, Kathleen Sue Spaunhorst and husband Bernie, Lake Saint Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kristin, Baltimore, Maryland, Bryan and wife Renee, Olympia, Washington, Karolyn Lewandowski and husband Jerry, Bethesda, Maryland, Jeff Curran and wife Tina, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Stacie Spaunhorst and husband Danny, Belleville, Illinois, Heather, Sante Fe, New Mexico, Patrick and wife Beth, Richmond, Virginia, and Ben Spaunhorst and wife Amber, Salt Lake City, Utah; nine great-grandchildren, Corinne, Wren, Marie, Calvin, Alec, Jax, Susanna, Evelyn and Tyce; nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sharon Bringewatt; two grandchildren, Sandi Spaunhorst and Joe Curran; and a brother-in-law, Richard Twesten; and two sisters-in-law, Doris Blumer and Leona Beasley.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington. Services will be held at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Washington, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kurt Schaller Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Berger, Missouri.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ or the Washington Historical Society.
