Margaret A. "Peggy" Maurer, 90, of Leslie, passed away on April 13, 2025. Mrs. Maurer, daughter of the late John Baragiola and Margaret nee O'Connor, was born on October 23, 1934, in St. Louis. She received her education from Notre Dame High School in St. Louis.
Peggy was known for her love of chocolate and ice cream, and of course News channel 4. Peggy enjoyed cooking for loved ones when they came to visit. She had an outfit for every occasion-even being nicknamed "JCPeggy's". Her faith was unwavering, even in the face of challenges. Peggy had a love for her family that was indescribable. She took great joy in spending time with family and friends, while sharing memories and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lee F. Maurer; two siblings, John Baragiola and William Baragiola; great granddaughter, Palmer Maurer; two sister-in-law, Bridget Baragiola, Kathleen Baragiola, and two brother-in-laws, Dan Anich and Gerry Armbruster.
Among her survivors are her children, Gene Maurer and wife Marla of Rolla, Lance Maurer and wife Pamela of Ballwin, and Pamela Schlueter of Leslie; two sisters, Nancy Anich of O'Fallon, MO and Cecile"Taffy" Armbruster of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Kristopher Maurer and wife Mara, Kylie Chambers and husband Clayton, Cortney King and husband Cody, Kelci Miller and husband Tim, Taylor Maurer and fiance Moi Arriaga, and Nicole Hatala and husband Eric; great-grandchildren, Teigen Chambers, Conley King, Claire King, Cohen King, Ellie Miller, and Olivia Miller; loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with a memorial mass beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
