Linda C. Eggert, 72, of New Haven, passed away on July 12, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Linda, daughter of the late Clarence Eggert and Evelyn nee Boesch, was born on March 9, 1952, in Washington. She attended Washington High School and found a career in the commercial insurance industry at various companies, including Safeco and Vanliner Insurance. In Linda’s later working years, she was an employee at WalMart in Washington, retiring from there in January of 2020. She developed many wonderful friendships and connections with both co-workers and customers alike, she missed them all dearly.
Linda had an unbelievable strength and determination beyond imagination, along with amazingly sharp memory. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who touched countless lives with her fiery nature and eminent passion for those she cared about. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, along with her grandparents, August and Bertha Eggert and Adolph and Frieda Bosch, along with many dear aunts, uncles, and friends.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Joddi Govero (Siebert) and husband Jeff of Imperial; brother, Leroy Eggert and wife Gloria of Washington; granddaughter, Maddison Govero of Imperial; two nephews, Andrew Eggert and wife Rachael of Washington and Nick Eggert and wife Ally of St. Peters, MO; cousin and friend, Janeial Gerdes and husband Roy of New Haven; two aunts, Marilyn Sherman and Norma Eggert; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Washington. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. Memorial contribution can be made to St. Peter’s UCC Cemetery.
The family would like to sincerely thank the countless medical professionals and care teams that ensured the best care and comfort possible for Linda. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff of the VICU Unit at Mercy St. Louis for the incredible love and attention Linda received in her final days.
