Lillian Bockover Obituary

Lillian E. Bockover, 97, of Washington, passed away on July 4, 2024. Mrs. Bockover, daughter of the late Gustave Garbs and Bertha nee Meyer, was born on May 9, 1927 in Berger. She received her education from Berger Grade School. On November 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to James Bockover at St. Francis Borgia Church.

After she graduated eighth grade, she went to work as a production worker, and worked until she retired.

In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling on a lady’s league and spending time at the clubhouse on the Gasconade River.  She enjoyed playing cards, doing Cross Word puzzles and an occasional trip to the casino.  But nothing made her happier than spending time with her family.

As a child, she was baptized in the Catholic faith.  Her faith was very strong, and she set an example for her family and all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Bockover; siblings, Mary Holt, Gene Garbs, Helen Kandlbinder, Bob Garbs, Theon Garbs, Theresa Mohesky, and Irwin Garbs; great-grandson, Nathan Roehrig and two great-great-grandchildren, Ella and Lucas Roettering.

Among her survivors are two daughters, Carol Mohesky and husband Leland of Washington and Barbara Mohesky of Washington; siblings, Francis Garbs of Washington, Gus Garbs and wife Jenny of Washington, and Bertha Becker of Washington; two sister-in-laws, Marita Garbs of Washington and Pat Bockover of Maryland Heights, MO; grandchildren, Michelle Mueller and husband Scott of Washington, Lynnette Roehrig and husband Glen of Washington, Curtis Mohesky and wife Kelly of Washington, Kelly Weis and husband Scott of Eureka, Tricia Piontek and husband Allan of Washington, Aimee Harty and husband Dan of Eureka, Kevin Mohesky and wife Heather of Krakow, Dan Mohesky of Branson, MO, Lauren Polsgrove and husband Jeff of St. Charles, and Derek Mohesky and wife Jennifer of Washington; twenty eight great-grandchildren, nineteen great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
