Lester V. Rohe, 75, of Villa Ridge, passed away on March 1, 2025, in Washington. Lester, son of the late Victor Rohe and Helen nee Mayer, was born on December 9, 1949, in Washington. He attended Washington High School for 2 years. On May 4, 1974, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Engemann at the St. Francis Borgia Church.
Lester worked various jobs throughout his life, from a truck driver, equipment operator, security guard, and also hauled grain and feed. In his life, Lester owned many cars and trucks, which he restored and the 55 Chevrolet was his favorite. His latest project was an 806 International tractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Catherine Gardner and Viola Kopp.
Among his survivors are his wife, Kathleen Rohe of Villa Ridge; daughter, Joanne Rohe-Nichols and husband Justin of St. Clair; sister, Evelyn Haberberger and husband Jerome of Villa Ridge; granddaughter, Willow Nichols; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Engemann and wife Annette of Washington, Richard Engemann of Washington, and Barbara Mittler and husband Jay of Washington; nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. John’s Gildehaus Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. John’s Gildehaus Church or Masses.
