Lester R. Brinker, 79 , of Washington, passed away on March 15, 2022. Lester, son of the late Herbert Brinker and Hildegarde nee Frankenberg, was born on April 26, 1942 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On May 4, 1963, he was united in marriage to Alice Hecktor at St. Gertrudes Church.
Lester served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. He was employed by Phillips Transit and D&H Trucking, retiring in 1999.
Mr. Brinker was a member of Assumption Parish in New Haven, Washington Volunteer Fire Company, and the VFW 2661.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jim Brinker, Edward Brinker and wife Donna, Ralph Brinker, Donald Brinker, and Rita Whitworth; brother-in-law, Gene Kosulic and sister-in-law, Connie Brinker.
Among his survivors are his wife Alice Brinker of Washington; son, Keith Brinker and wife Patricia of Washington; three daughters, Kelly O’Brien and husband Shawn of Andover, Minnesota, Leanne Nuyda and husband Todd of Keller, TX, and Karen Brinkmann and husband Robert of Washington; siblings, Harold Brinker and wife Diane of Washington, Herbert Brinker Jr. of Washington, and Verna Kosulic of Washington; In-laws, Jeanette Brinker, Lorine Brinker, Luella Brinker, and Merald Whitworth; grandchildren, Eric Brinker, Joette Brinker, Brian Brinker, Leah Nuyda, DJ Nuyda, and Amerita McCullough and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Grace and Luke McCullough; other relatives and friends.
A memorial mass will be held on June 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Memorial donations can be made to the VFW 2661 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
