Leonard Struckhoff Obituary

Leonard R. Struckhoff, 97, of Washington, passed away on July 24, 2022. Mr. Struckhoff, son of the late Robert Struckhoff and Mary nee Dickhaus, was born on September 17, 1924 in Augusta. He received his education from Immaculate Conception Parish School. On September 29, 1995, he was united in marriage to Leona Sieve Brinker at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Leonard served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.

Farming was Leonard’s passion. He was always interested in what was going on and how the crops were doing.

Leonard was a retired member of the Augusta Volunteer Fire Dept., Augusta American Legion Post 262, and the VFW Post 2661 in Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona Struckhoff; stepson, David Brinker; son-in-law, Erwin Brinkmann and four siblings, Beda Struckhoff and wife Agnes, Julitta Struckhoff and husband Victor, Felix Struckhoff and wife Brigetta, and Henry Struckhoff and wife Theresa.

Among his survivors are his stepchildren, Bernice Brinkmann and husband Ralph, Bonnie Brinkmann, Eugene Brinker and wife Ruth, Thomas Brinker and wife Marilyn, Michael Brinker and significant other, Pam Westhoelter, Sharon Liesmann and husband Dennis, and Gerald Brinker and wife Melissa; daughter-in-law, Virginia Brinker; 26 step-grandchildren, 41 step-great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a funeral mass beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Interment, with full military honors will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Augusta. Memorial donations can be made to the Franklin County Honor Flight, St. Francis Borgia Church, or the Immaculate Conception Church in Augusta.
