Leo Kandlbinder Obituary

Leo Francis Kandlbinder was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. He left this world bravely and peacefully on Monday, January 10th, 2022 at the age of 79.

Leo was born to Herbert and Loraine Kandlbinder on April 3rd, 1942 in Washington Missouri. He was drafted into the Army and served honorably as an infantry soldier in the Vietnam War. Upon returning, he married Marilyn Mills and they had three children; Michelle Cohee, Maryann Akouch, and Lee Kandlbinder.

Leo had a long career and eventual retirement from The Chrysler Corporation. He was an avid golfer and played several times per week for years, often winning local tournaments. Leo also was a great dancer, pool player and bowler. His friendly and outgoing personality made him a friend to anyone he met.

He is survived by his significant other, Dottie Pruessner of Union, his children listed above, his brother Don Kandlbinder and wife Suzanne of Lesley, MO, his brother Joe Kandlbinder and wife Claudia of San Antonio, TX, his brother Rich Kandlbinder and wife Judy of Washington, MO, and his granddaughter Tiffany Cohee of Greenville, NC.

A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, January 13th, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm at Nieburg-Vitt,Miller Funeral Home (1206 Jefferson Street, Washington, MO 63090). A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 14th, 2022 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church (111 North Washington Ave, Union, MO 63084). Leo will be buried at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Washington, MO immediately following the funeral. A luncheon will be served afterwards at Jesuit Hall of St. Francis Borgia Parish (115 Cedar Street, Washington, MO). All are welcome.
