Laverne A. Bierbaum, 90, of Washington, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2024. Mrs. Bierbaum, daughter of the late Alphonse Koester and Anna nee Buhr, was born on July 25, 1933, in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On September 25, 1954, she was united in marriage to Marvin Bierbaum at St. Francis Borgia Church. They had been married for 50 years upon his passing in 2004 and two children came to bless this union.
Mrs. Bierbaum was employed at Modern Auto in Washington, for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Borgia Parish.
Laverne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Bierbaum; two siblings, Theola Searcy and Richard Koester, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Strubberg.
Among her survivors are two daughters, Karen Rothschild and Lisa Desmond, both of Washington; sister, Marcella Strubberg of Washington; five grandchildren, Lauren Summers and husband Travis, Leslie Busch and husband Stephen, Nicole Feldmann, Morgan Desmond (Jack), and James Desmond (Katelyn); ten great-grandchildren, Cameron, Samantha, Cole, Eloise, Beau, Ezra, Ava, Waylon, Phoebe, and Leah; loved ones and friends.
Funeral services will be held privately. Interment will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes School.
