Larry M. Bonnot, 86, of Washington passed away on February 20, 2024. Mr. Bonnot, son of the late Monroe Bonnot and Opal nee Tharp, was born on April 30, 1937 in Washington, MO. He received his education from Washington High School. On July 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to Dolores M. Dieckhaus at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington, MO. Larry served his country honorably in the United States Army where he served during the Korean war as well as the Vietnam war.
Larry was a very talented artist and machinist. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering with different things, and spending time with his beloved cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Earl Gephart, stepmother Mildred Bonnot, and wife Dolores Bonnot.
Among his survivors are his daughters, Cheryl Dowil and husband John of Washington, and Yvette Cannata and husband Anthony of Ocean Springs, MS; sister, Bonnie Smith and husband Geoffrey of Washington; Grandchildren Courtney Googe and husband Henry and Alexander Blackwell; great grandchildren, Gretchen Googe and Hazel Googe; in-laws, other relatives, loved ones, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on March 30, 2024, from 12-2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 218 in Washington. A light luncheon and refreshments served. Full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 218. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to the WW II Museum, Franklin County Humane Society, or the American Legion Post 218.
