Kenneth D. Richardson, 96, of Washington, passed away on January 22, 2021. Kenneth, son of the late Ross L. Richardson and his wife, Mattie NEE Bolton, was born in Warrenton, Missouri on January 22, 1925. He proudly served in the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate during World War II.
On May 18, 1946, Ken was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Monzyk at St. Francis Borgia Church. During his retirement years, he enjoyed fabricating metal and wooden replicas of the seaplanes he worked on during the war; building barbecue grills; woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; grandson, Nicholas Jett; and his beloved wife, Dorothy Richardson. Among his survivors are his children: C. Wayne Richardson of Washington, Sandra Jett and husband, Scott of Washington, and Keith Richardson and wife, Ann of Washington, ten grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Private family services will be held. A Mass celebrating the lives of both Ken and Dorothy will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Mercy Hospice.
