Kenneth Maune Obituary

Kenneth J. Maune, 91, of Washington, passed away on March 31, 2022. Kenneth, son of the late Frederick Maune and Elizabeth nee Haberberger, was born on December 16, 1930 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On May 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to the love of his life LaVerne Boland at St. Francis Borgia Church. Together they had four children. Ken truly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Kenneth served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. Ken coached the boys baseball Khoury League for many years. He helped start the Little League girls’ softball program where he coached his daughters. Ken enjoyed all types of fishing, especially trout fishing. Ken and LaVerne enjoyed going on many bus trips across the country after they retired.

Among his survivors are daughters, Karen Glosemeyer and husband Darrell of New Haven, Sherry Miesner and husband Allan of Washington, and Lori Huellinghoff and husband Roger of Washington; grandchildren, Ryan, Corey, and Curtis Glosemeyer, Adam and Justin Miesner, and Nicholas and Megan Huellinghoff; brother in-law, Harvey “Skip” Boland; sister in-law, Delores Maschmann; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVerne Maune; his daughter, Kathleen Maune; sisters, Evelyn Branson and husband Walter, Mildred Westhoff and husband Andrew, Virginia Westhoff and husband Sylvester, Margaret Anderson and husband Clyde, and brothers Fred Jr., Henry and Norbert Maune; brother in-law Lawrence “Mop” Maschmann; sister in-law Lillian Boland and Meredith Beste and husband Rudolph.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church. Memorial Donations can be made to St. Francis Borgia Parish or Washington Meals on Wheels through Mercy.
