Kathleen F. Richter, 69, of Washington, passed away on November 15, 2023. Mrs. Richter, daughter of the late James Murphy and Mary Ellen nee Hightower, was born on February 2, 1954 in St. Louis. She received her education from Hazelwood Senior High School. On June 26, 1976, she was united in marriage to Wilfred Richter in St. Louis.
For forty years, Kathleen was a Payroll Program Manager and Human Resources Manager before retiring in 2021. She enjoyed shopping, finding the latest deals, and increasing her ever expanding shoe collection. But her greatest passion in life was her family. She was the matriarch, providing unwavering support, love and guidance to her family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Michael Murphy and grandson, Wyatt Reed.
Among her survivors are her husband Fred Richter of Washington; two children, Jennifer Reed and husband Doug of Dutzow and Danny Richter and wife Stephanie of Washington; one brother, Patrick Murphy of Washington; two grandchildren, Crosby Richter and Clay Reed; in-laws, Roland Richter and wife Sharon; nieces and nephews, Elora Murphy, James Murphy, Brenna Murphy, Jimmy Murphy, Michelle Torrez, Renee Sattazahn, Brian Richter, and Nicole Richter; great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
