Katheryn “Skippy” Searcy,80, of Washington, passed away on June 17, 2024. Katheryn, daughter of the late Marion Weiskopf and Lillian nee Coghlan, was born on July 20, 1943, in St. Louis. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On February 16, 1963, she was united in marriage to Gene Buddemeyer. Later she married Ed Searcy on March 23rd, 1991.
Katheryn loved quilting, sewing, crafts, and loved going to grandkids ballgames.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Gene Buddemeyer; second husband, Ed Searcy; sister, Mary Ann Williams; stepbrothers, Eddie, John, and Glenn Hamann and stepson Mike Searcy.
Among her survivors are two children, Tim Buddemeyer and wife Lisa of Washington and Tammy TenEyck and husband Jim of Union; step-children, Fred Searcy and wife Judy of Krakow, Michelle Phinney and husband Mike of Washington, and Eric Searcy and wife Caroline of Washington; grandchildren, Jake Buddemeyer, Morgan Buddemeyer and significant other Bobby Hennicke, Nicole Fritzemeyer and husband Chas and Dustin TenEyck; great-grandchildren, Carrie Love and husband Aaron, Matthew Straatmann, Addison Fritzemeyer, and Dale Fritzemeyer; step-grandchildren, Dean Searcy and wife Samantha, Andrea Lee and husband Sean, Dustin Searcy and wife Rebecca, Garrett Searcy and wife Jill, Alec Searcy and wife Melissa, Kristen Reddy and husband Steve, Mike Phinney and wife Andrea, and Evan and Nathan Searcy; step-great-grandchildren, Ryan and Evie Lee, Julia, Payton, and Emmitt Searcy, Clark, Pearl, and Hazel Searcy, and Leo Searcy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 12-2 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Interment with graveside service will be at the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the VFW or the American Legion Auxiliary.
