Karen M. Halley, 76, of New Haven, passed away on July 15, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Halley, daughter of the late James Neier and Florene nee Homeyer, was born on April 12, 1949, in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School. On May 23, 1975, she was united in marriage to Michael Halley at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington.
Karen had a deep appreciation for nature and found great joy in spending time outdoors. She cherished fishing trips and camping adventures, often sharing these experiences with family and friends. Mushroom hunting and searching for arrowheads were among her favorite pastimes, pursuits that reflected her curiosity and love for discovery in the natural world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Michael Neier, Sandy Neier, Tim Neier, and sister-in-law, Karol Neier.
Among her survivors are her husband, Michael Halley of Washington; four children, Richard “Ben” Halley and wife Vanessa of Chatham, IL, Christopher Halley of Washington, Jeff Halley of Washington, and Mandy Sue Halley and significant other Justin Marty of St. Louis; siblings, Kathy Sieges and husband Herm of Union, Patty Taylor and husband Chuck of Washington, Pam Kimminau and husband Bill of Washington, and Susan Amburgy and husband Mike of Caulfield, MO; two grandchildren, Aiden Halley and AJ Miller; many more loved ones and so many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or OLL Church.
Immediately following Mass, a luncheon will be held in the lower level of Our Lady of Lourdes Church
