Judy Creek Obituary

Judy Creek (nee Jackson) passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones in her home on Friday, September 12, 2025 in Washington, Missouri.

Born on May 23, 1943, Judy grew up in Owensville, Missouri, to Charles and Velma Jackson (nee Sieckmann). She was the eldest of 3 children and had 3 half siblings: Bill, Dennis, Dot, Jerry, and Richard. Judy grew up working in her parent’s store called Vel’s Confectionary and later went to Olga’s College of Beauty to become a beautician. She owned her own beauty shop in Washington for several years called Cut ‘n Curl. She later finished up her career at Haire Works, both in Washington, MO.

Judy enjoyed crafting very much and in her younger days, she made her family members a new ornament each year for Christmas. She also helped create decorations for her family members weddings. Most recently, she enjoyed making personalized greeting cards for every occasion.

She was also the President of the Ladies Aid at Ebenezer Lutheran Church where she planned and organized meals for every occasion and the annual Christmas party/gift exchange.

To her family, Judy wasn’t just Grandma- she was the heart of every holiday and always prepared a feast for everyone and made Sunday dinners feel like a celebration. Many of her family members would call if they had a question about any recipe. Judy showed her love through her cooking and no one ever left her house hungry. She also made everyone feel at home. One of her famous things she said was “God helps those who help themselves” Everyone was family and felt like they were at home when visiting Grandma’s house.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Creek, 2017; parents Charles and Velma Jackson; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Kay Creek. Her siblings: Dot Hohenstreet, Jerry Printy, and Richard Jackson.

Judy left behind a loving family that included two children: Linda Marts of Washington, MO and Larry Creek and spouse Nancy from Laddonia, MO. She is survived by two brothers: Bill Jackson and spouse Gloria from Hurst, Texas; Dennis Jackson and spouse Barb from Ballwin, MO.
