John J. Phillips

John J. Phillips, 66, of Villa Ridge, passed away on February 25, 2025. Mr. Phillips, son of the late Donald D. Phillips and Marlene nee Schawacker, was born on May 6, 1958 in St. Louis. He received his education from Desmet High School.

John enjoyed music and played in 2 different bands. He also liked playing golf and watching his children at sporting events. He always enjoyed spending quality time with all his children. Some of his favorite outings with his family included attending the Sausage Dinner, Chicken Dinner, and Fish Frys at St. John's Gildehaus.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald D. Phillips and brother, Dan Phillips.

Among his survivors are his mother, Marlene G. Phillips; children, Kristen Searcy and husband Evan of Pacific, Jeffrey Phillips of Olathe, KS, Kassidy Phillips of Villa Ridge, Laura Kuhn of Chesterfield, and Katie Biere and husband Brad of Foristell; siblings, Mary Pettit and husband Phil of Ballwin, Richard Phillips and wife Ruth of Ballwin, and Anne Fugel of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Lainey Kuhn, Gracie Kuhn, Penny Biere, and Jolene Biere; loved ones and friends.

A memorial mass will be held on March 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Gildehaus Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. John’s Gildehaus School.
