Joan H. Hamlin, 88 , of O’Fallon, MO, passed away on November 3, 2021. Mrs. Hamlin, daughter of the late Virgil Schaub and wife Mayme nee Koch Schaub, was born on March 17, 1933 in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School. On November 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Reynolds Hamlin at St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Washington.
Mrs. Hamlin worked as an office manager in Washington and Jefferson City until retirement. She enjoyed reading, gardening, redecorating the house, and watching HGTV and Fox News.
Joan was a member of the St. Peter’s U.C.C. and VFW 2661 in Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reynolds “Ham” Hamlin and sister, Ida Mae Mades.
Among her survivors are two children, Sherry Miller and husband Michael of O’Fallon, MO and Britt Hamlin and wife Tammy of Fairbury, IL; grandchildren, Jonathon Miller of St. Peters, Jacob Miller and wife Amber of Linn, MO, and Jennifer Pelletier and husband Douglas of Southern Pines, NC; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Quinton Miller; other relatives and friends.
Joan donated her body to St. Louis University. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, St. Peter’s U.C.C., or VFW 2661.
