JoAnn C. Hoelscher, 82, of Washington, passed away on February 19, 2024. Mrs. Hoelscher, daughter of the late Lawrence Ballmann and Alma nee Hotmer, was born on June 14, 1941, in Marthasville. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On May 26, 1962, she was united in marriage to David Hoelscher at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
JoAnn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed having guests over to her home to swim and watching the hummingbirds on her back porch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Chuck Byrd; siblings, Tippy Feldmann, Ralph Ballmann, Lawrence Ballmann, James Ballmann, Charles Ballmann, and Audrey Aholt.
Among her survivors are her husband, David Hoelscher of Washington; children, Terry Hoelscher of Washington, Cindy Byrd of Washington, and Peggy Brinkmann and husband David of Washington; siblings, Tootsie Trentmann of Krakow and Helen Hilgedick of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Nathaniel Byrd and significant other Kim Strubberg and her daughter, Ember, Lucas Brinkmann, Aaron Brinkmann, and Kayla Brinkmann; great-granddaughter, Vesper Byrd; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. Francis Borgia Church. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Francis Borgia Church.
