Jerry Marquart Obituary

Jerry H. Marquart,86, of Washington, passed away on March 22, 2026. Jerry, son of the late Everet Marquart and Mary nee Voss, was born on December 14, 1939, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On February 16, 1962, he was united in marriage to Ruth Pritchett at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Jerry loved Cardinals baseball and cherished watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports. He enjoyed woodworking and building with his hands, finding satisfaction in creating things for those he loved. Always generous, Jerry was known for lending a helping hand to family and friends whenever needed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rich Marquart and wife Moe, Butch Marquart, Louis Marquart and wife Judy, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent “Spud” Schmuke, Marilyn Marquart, Joe Pritchett, Russell Pritchett and wife Delores, Bobby Pritchett and wife Diane, and Billy Pritchett.

Among his survivors are his wife Ruth Marquart of Washington; two daughters, Patty Groner and husband Lindy of New Haven and Susan Marquart and significant other Mike Stuckmeyer of Chesterfield; four siblings, Everet “Shank” Marquart and wife Kathleen of Washington, Maurice Marquart of Washington, Thelma Schmuke of Beaufort, and Carol Obermark and husband Kenny of Washington; three grandchildren, Tiffany Strubberg and husband Brian, Christina Fritzmeyer and husband Jared, and Cody Groner; four great-grandchildren, Luke and Avery Strubberg, and Grace and Wyatt Fritzmeyer; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Interment will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia Church or the American Cancer Society.
