Jerry Glimpse Obituary

Jerry Glimpse, 82, of Washington, passed away on August 21, 2020.  Jerry, son of the late Sheldon Glimpse and Annabelle nee Vance, was born on October 2, 1937 in Nevada, MO and graduated from Nevada High School and later had some training with the United States Coast Guard.  On September 14, 1958, he married Miss Glenda Keithly.  From this union they were blessed by two children. 

Jerry worked in Nevada, Mo. Fort Scott, KS. and Sedalia, Mo with A&P Grocery Stores before taking a job with Sears in Sedalia, Brookfield, Mo. then eventually ending up in Washington, Mo. Where he retired from Sears in 1993.
Jerry was the Fair Chairman in 1976 during the Bicentennial year.
He loved to go camping with friends and family, always going different places but one of the favorites was Montauk State Park.  Jerry had a hobby of being an avid woodworker.  He leaves behind many handmade pieces of furniture and heirlooms for his family.  

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Howard and Jimmy Glimpse.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Glimpse of Washington; children, Natalie and husband Kevin Hardcastle of Labadie and Alan Glimpse of Labadie; grandchildren; Lauren Hardcastle and Ryan Hardcastle; brother Warren and wife Cynthia Glimpse; sister-in-law Jean Glimpse; and his beloved dog, Abby; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday August 28, 2020 from noon-2:00 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home.  A graveside service will immediately follow at Washington Presbyterian Cemetery.

The Glimpse family asks that anyone attending the memorial visitation wear a mask, and follow social distancing guidelines.
