James L. Steinhaus, 78 , of Washington, passed away on July 16, 2021. Mr. Steinhaus, son of the late Lester Steinhaus and his wife Patricia nee Walden, was born on October 25, 1942 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On April 25, 1964, he was united in marriage to Connie Toben at the Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville.
Mr. Steinhaus was employed at Sporlan Valve for 45 years, until retirement. James was past Exhalted Ruler of the Washington Elks 1559. He was an avid supporter of St. Francis Borgia High School and all of the athletic programs. He was a member of the St. Francis Borgia Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law, Jane and Herb Toben.
Among his survivors are his wife Connie Steinhaus of Washington; two children, Jim Steinhaus and wife Heather of Affton and Tim Steinhaus of Valley Park; two siblings, Patti Schmidt and husband Ken of Cincinnati, OH and Tom Kraft and wife Kris of Wildwood; four grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Ashley, and Andrew Steinhaus; great-grandchildren, Jonni and Jack Pipitone; In-laws, Pam Ridenhour and husband Dan; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on August 21, 2021 from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the St. Francis Borgia Church, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 12 P.M. at the St. Francis Borgia Church. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia High School or the St. Francis Borgia High School Athletic Association.
